Gear shaper cutter is a gear shaped or rack shaped gear cutting tool.  The gear shaper cutter is used to process the internal and external meshing spur and helical gears by spreading method.  

The characteristic of gear shaper is that it can process shoulder gear, multi-link gear and miter gear without empty slot.  Special gear shaper cutter can also process various other profile workpiece, such as CAM and internal spline, etc
